Disney Magic Meets Wellness: Storyliving by Disney and Optum Introduce Health and Wellness Programming

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2025) — This fall, the magic of Disney will come to life in a whole new way at Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community in Rancho Mirage, California. Cotino residents who choose to become members of the voluntary Artisan Club will embark on a journey of wellness and wonder with programming facilitated by leading health and wellness provider Optum, including specially designed experiences inspired by favorite Disney characters. The Artisan Club is scheduled to open to members later this month.

Optum’s multidimensional wellness approach will support club members’ physical, emotional, social, environmental, financial, intellectual and occupational health. A dedicated on-site team will provide personalized resources and support, encouraging members to live purposefully and healthfully.

Curated by Walt Disney Imagineers, select offerings within the Artisan Club’s programming will bring a unique blend of storytelling and movement to create experiential fitness that promotes holistic well-being. These Disney-inspired fitness experiences — sprinkled thoughtfully among a broader mix of wellness classes — will allow members to channel their favorite Disney characters, adding a touch of enchantment to their wellness journey.

A fast-paced, full-body “Super Circuit” will channel the powers of the Disney and Pixar film “The Incredibles” into an action-packed circuit workout. Members will sprint with Dash’s lightning speed, lift with Mr. Incredible’s super strength and stretch with Elastigirl’s famous flexibility. It will be a dynamic, high-energy session designed to push limits, build strength and agility, and summon members’ inner hero.

A high-energy Latin cardio class will draw inspiration from the vibrant music and culture of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” blending Colombian dance styles like cumbia, mapalé and porro into a joyful workout for dancers of all levels. Each track will invoke the spirit of a different Madrigal — from Luisa’s powerful drive, to Isabela’s effortless grace, to Mirabel’s spark and heart. Designed to open body and spirit, this session will keep members moving, smiling and sweating from start to finish.

Set along the tranquil shores of Cotino Bay, a Moana-inspired breathwork class will invite guests to connect deeply with the rhythms of the water and their own inner currents. Guided by themes from Moana’s journey — courage, curiosity and finding one’s true course — each breath sequence will mirror the ebb and flow of the tide, from gentle, wave-like inhales to powerful, cleansing exhales. Subtle soundscapes of surf and distant island drums will create an immersive atmosphere, while guided visualizations will evoke open waters, starlit navigation and the call of the horizon. The experience will merge mindfulness and movement into a meditative voyage, leaving participants grounded, energized and ready to chart their own way forward.

Moana Breathwork class at the Artisan Club

A Maleficent-inspired power sculpt class will conjure strength, control and unapologetic attitude. Slow-burn strength sets will be paired with bold poses and commanding power postures, exuding the dark elegance and magnetic presence of the Mistress of All Evil. Set to a darkly dramatic playlist and framed by moody, cinematic lighting, this session will invite members to own the mirror, command the room and train with confidence.

Inspired by Stitch’s unpredictable spirit, a high-energy paddleboard experience on Cotino Bay will offer a one-of-a-kind workout where balance, fun and a little chaos collide. This series of core-strength sequences, power moves and surprise challenges will keep members on their toes (and sometimes in the water) as they wobble, splash and embrace imperfection, the Experiment 626 way.

The Artisan Club will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio equipment, strength training classes and free weights. Members can also enjoy activities at the club pool and pickleball and tennis courts and explore Cotino Bay’s turquoise waters, powered by Crystal Lagoons technology, through swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding.

Beyond fitness and wellness, the Artisan Club will offer a variety of experiences designed to enrich daily life, foster creativity and deepen connections among club members. These carefully curated programs, organized into four thematic pillars, exemplify Disney’s enduring commitment to storytelling and exploration.

Curated experiences that foster lifelong learning and exploration, including options such as speaker series featuring thought leaders and special Disney talent, hands-on art workshops and educational programming designed to inspire creativity, curiosity and connection.

A dynamic calendar of immersive social experiences, from live music and movie nights to themed gatherings and Storyteller Dinners — all designed to celebrate Disney’s legacy of storytelling while building community through shared moments.

Programs supporting mental, emotional and physical well-being, such as culinary demonstrations, wellness walks and balanced lifestyle classes.

Exclusive, themed day trips that offer meaningful connections to Disney history and culture. Possible excursions include a private viewing of Walt’s plane at the Palm Springs Air Museum, a visit to the Walt Disney Archives in Burbank and a visit to a National Park with a National Geographic Expert.

Membership in the Artisan Club and access to its amenities is currently available to owners of residences at Cotino. As the first Storyliving by Disney community in the U.S., Cotino is designed with creative guidance from Walt Disney Imagineers who drew inspiration from the region’s history, landscape and spirit to create a one-of-a-kind place that inspires residents.
