Disneyland Resort Kicks Off Fall Season with Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia, Beginning Aug. 21, 2026

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 21, 2026) – Today, Disneyland Resort welcomes the fall season with a festive mix of family-friendly Halloween entertainment and cultural celebrations, featuring limited-time entertainment, specialty treats, themed merchandise and more for guests of all ages.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

Through Oct. 31, 2026, Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort brings a variety of festive delights to life – from spirited décor and themed versions of favorite attractions to enchanting entertainment and more.

In the spirit of the season, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends debut new Halloween-themed attire in Town Square, featuring harlequin motifs, frilled collars and cuffs and swirling confection details in hues of orange, yellow and black.

The can’t-miss entertainment and experiences include returning favorites such as “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” daytime show at Disney California Adventure Park and the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular with fireworks on select nights at Disneyland Park. Popular attraction overlays are coming back including Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark to Disney California Adventure, while the Haunted Mansion Holiday inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” reappears at Disneyland.

Vibrant scenes across The Happiest Place on Earth set the mood with seasonal favorites returning across the resort, including the giant iconic Mickey Mouse pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A. and the returning display of unique carved pumpkins featuring a new Chewbacca design at the Central Hub in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Themed merchandise is on full display for the pumpkin season, including new items for the Mickey Mouse and Family Halloween and Disney Cutie Ghost Collections, featuring colorful designs of attire and headwear blending Halloween fun and beloved Disney characters.

Food fans delight in devilishly delicious sweet and spooky bites across the resort. New dishes and drinks include: 

In addition to an array of new offerings, fan favorites are back on the menu, including the spicy Oogie Boogie burrito from Studio Catering Co., the Mickey ghost cake pop from various candy locations, pozole at Rancho del Zocalo and more, alongside new novelties debuting this year like the Vampire Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket and Hatbox Ghost popcorn bucket (available at Disneyland).

For even more frightful fun, guests can experience an extra spooky stroll with Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour featuring eerie tales across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, available at an additional cost with valid theme park admission. Meanwhile, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit* invites guests to test their sleuthing skills by purchasing maps to locate hidden Disney-themed pumpkins across both parks and the Downtown Disney District, along with receiving a special keepsake.

More Tricks, Treats and Halloween Fun Across the Resort

The Halloween celebration extends to the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort with seasonal scenery, themed dining and spellbinding experiences. This year, Pixar Place Hotel debuts brand-new décor inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.,” while Disneyland Hotel welcomes guests with Haunted Mansion-inspired touches. Seasonal confectionery displays also return to both Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, adding a sweet touch to the spooky season.

Guests can enjoy a variety of limited-time character dining experiences, including Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween at the Disneyland Hotel, Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast Buffet and Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner, both at Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Reservations are available for all experiences.

Additional seasonal offerings extend beyond the parks including trick-or-treat trails for overnight hotel guests on select afternoons and festive experiences at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, including themed bites and treats from the Grand Californian Great Hall Cart and seasonal spa and salon services at Tenaya Stone Spa, like the Wicked to the Core foot treatment.

Meanwhile, the Downtown Disney District gets into the Halloween spirit with autumn-inspired décor, themed eats and seasonal shopping. Visitors can enjoy movie nights on select nights and live music performances on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and lawn.

Honoring Día de los Muertos at Plaza de la Familia

Inspired by Pixar’s “Coco,” Plaza de la Familia returns to Disney California Adventure Park beginning today through Nov. 2, 2026, in honor of Día de los Muertos with vibrant decor, festive entertainment and activities commemorating the everlasting bonds of family.

Lively music leads the way for this year’s event with the return of “The Storytellers of the Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” street show, featuring performances of beloved songs from the film as well as classic Mexican tunes by a traveling troupe of storytellers. The seasonal splendor is on display with live mariachi music at the Paradise Garden Bandstand.

When it’s time to re-fuel, guests can enjoy limited-time menu items inspired by Mexican cuisine at Paradise Garden Grill, including returning favorites chilaquiles carnitas torta, as well as new items like the Nuez gelatina cake and marigold margarita. Beginning Sept. 3, guests can sip in style with the new Coco Lantern sipper, which will be available at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante and Ship to Shore Marketplace in Disneyland Park, Paradise Garden Grill in Disney California Adventure, as well as other locations throughout the Resort.

The new Disney Pixar Coco Collection merchandise will also debut this fall, featuring colorful apparel, accessories, headwear and more inspired by the film.

Over at Disneyland, we extend the celebration of Día de los Muertos with a vibrant installation in Frontierland near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, which is adorned with calacas and catrinas, traditional skeletal figures often associated with Día de los Muertos celebrations.

After-hours delights at Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

The fan-favorite Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party** returns to Disney California Adventure Park on select nights, Aug. 18 to Oct. 31 with an evening of not-so-scary fun for all ages. Tickets are still available for the after-hours, separately ticketed event, while supplies last. Attendees can experience the new “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party,” bringing frightful haunts to Disney California Adventure Park with a street party full of show-stopping moments and ghoulishly good times inspired by the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction and hosted by Madame Leota herself.

Guests already holding tickets are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and enjoy a spooky fun evening of specialty food and beverages, select attractions often with shorter wait times, unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, pre-party park mix-in (starting at 3:00 p.m.), immersive treat trails, unique merchandise and more. Joining the Disney Villain line-up this year for limited-time character experiences is Yzma from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Emperor’s New Groove,” as well as fan-favorites Ernesto de la Cruz, Maleficent and Hades returning. At select times throughout the evening, Ichabod Crane will hurry through Disney California Adventure Park evading the sinister specter of the Headless Horseman astride his dark steed.

In addition, guests can delight in Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party (available now for purchase at an additional cost) to enjoy preferred seating for “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” and a curated selection of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”-themed sweet treats.
