There’s never been a more exciting time for Disney Experiences. Across every theme park resort worldwide, groundbreaking attractions and immersive lands are taking shape — alongside a visionary new destination in the Middle East and plans to double our cruise fleet. Each project is crafted to bring Disney storytelling to life in bold, innovative ways, reaching new audiences everywhere and inviting more people than ever to join the adventure.

Walt Disney World Resort

These are the new developments coming to Walt Disney World, joining four of the most popular theme parks from around the globe, two thrilling water parks, more than 29,000 hotel rooms, a sports complex, four golf courses, and Disney Springs — a metropolis of shopping, dining, and entertainment. At Magic Kingdom specifically, the new additions celebrate the vast appeal of both Disney Villains and Disney & Pixar’s Cars, and represent the largest expansion in the park’s history. Villains-themed Land

Walt Disney Imagineering is developing a new land in the Magic Kingdom that brings to life stories from Disney’s most iconic villains. The area will feature two major attractions, immersive dining, and themed retail, offering guests bold new ways to experience the magic of storytelling.

Piston Peak National Park

This new area at Magic Kingdom will continue the sweeping storytelling tradition that has crossed Liberty Square and Frontierland since opening day. Inside Piston Peak, guests will be able to see and explore the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails, and more — all set within the Disney and Pixar Cars universe. The area will feature two exciting new Cars-themed attractions.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Exciting updates are on the horizon for this attraction at Magic Kingdom, including a new show scene, updated ride vehicles, and gameplay enhancements — such as video monitors to provide real-time scoring updates, handheld blasters that will allow for better aim, and interactive targets.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Update

In 2026, the iconic attraction will reopen with new magic, including a mountain-top to cavern-deep refurbishment. And, when the trains rattle their way underground, guests will find spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools.

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

Guests will soon be able to see Walt Disney through the magic of Audio-Animatronics technology in Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. The attraction was Walt’s own idea from beginning to end, and the original attraction made its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, where it was an immediate smash hit for millions of people visiting from around the world.

Monsters, Inc.-themed land

In this brand-new land themed around Pixar Animation Studios’ classic film, guests will have the chance to stroll the streets alongside some of their favorite monsters. This living, breathing, and not-at-all-scary area tells a story that picks up after the events of the film where monsters need laughter to power the city.

Inside Monsters, Inc.

The land will feature a Monsters, Inc.-themed suspended coaster, a Monsters, Inc.-themed theatrical experience, and themed shopping and dining.

The land will include a signature attraction where guests embark on a thrilling roller coaster ride through the Monsters, Inc. door vault. The upcoming door ride will feature the first-ever suspended coaster at a Disney Park, and the first-ever vertical lift.

The Walt Disney Studios

A new land, The Walt Disney Studios, will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Housed in a building reminiscent of the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building on the Burbank Studio Lot (complete with Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat), is an upcoming family experience, “The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is based on the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon a Studio.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2026, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster gets a Muppet makeover as “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.” Guests can join The Electric Mayhem on a wild VIP road trip to their biggest concert ever, featuring a revamped guitar courtyard, penguin audio engineers, and a high-speed ride through Hollywood with a Muppet twist.

Tropical Americas

Set to open in 2027, Tropical Americas is a new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will enter the land through Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional village in the heart of the rainforest that will feel lived-in, with a long, rich history — including attractions themed to Indiana Jones and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby

The lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is undergoing a renovation that adds a new bar inspired by the lobby’s iconic birdcage. The surrounding lobby, staircase, and front desk will be refreshed with a mix of botanical accents and inviting colors to create an airy, garden-like atmosphere.  This will mark the culmination of the resort’s multi-year refurbishment.

Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park will double in size with two brand-new attractions — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. These thrilling experiences will prepare guests to suit up and fight alongside some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Construction has begun on this exciting expansion.

First-Ever Coco Attraction

An all-new attraction themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco is coming to Disney California Adventure park. The attraction will be filled with beloved characters and music from the film, as guests join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead. The upcoming attraction will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in areas that are predominately backstage today.

Parking Structure & Transport Hub

Plans are underway for a new parking structure and transportation hub that will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort. Disney Cruise Line will add four new vessels to its growing fleet between 2027 and 2031 — doubling the number of its ships during this period. Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is currently in the midst of an overall unprecedented transformation. The resort’s second park is undergoing a major expansion that will roughly double its footprint, while embracing a fresh creative vision: when its new World of Frozen themed area opens in Spring 2026, the park that has long been known as Walt Disney Studios will be renamed Disney Adventure World. New developments also include an all-new nighttime lake show, a Tangled-themed family-friendly attraction in the new Adventure Way area, and later on, an Up-themed attraction followed by a major Lion King-themed area and attraction. 

World of Frozen

Set to open in Spring 2026, World of Frozen will immerse guests in the heart of the Kingdom of Arendelle from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen films. In addition to being home to an all-new attraction that will bring guests on a journey alongside Anna and Elsa, this must-visit area will offer immersive shopping and dining experiences as well as the chance to meet the beloved sisters.

Blending the charm of family attractions with the colorful world of Pixar Animation Studios’ Up, the new experience — a flying carousel that will spin in the air, offering a bird’s-eye view of the park’s stunning scenery — will come to Adventure Way and mark the first time an attraction inspired by this beloved film is coming to a Disney park.

The first-ever immersive world themed to The Lion King is coming to Disney Adventure World. Inspired by Tony Stark’s vision for a better future, the area brings together brilliant minds from the Avengers and their friends working together in Hong Kong to showcase their cutting-edge inventions and technologies. Unique to Hong Kong, this immersive experience will further expand the Stark Expo.

Shanghai Disney Resort

Opened on June 16, 2016, Shanghai Disney Resort is home to Shanghai Disneyland, two themed hotels (with two more on the way), Disneytown, a shopping, dining and entertainment district, Wishing Star Park, and other outdoor recreation areas. These are a couple of the other exciting updates coming to the resort.

Spider-Man-Themed Land

A new Spider-Man-themed land is coming to Shanghai Disney Resort. This is the ninth themed land at the Resort and third major expansion for the park. The brand-new land includes the park’s first major Super Hero-themed attraction, a high-energy thrill coaster featuring Spider-Man, along with Spider-Man and friends-themed shopping, food and beverage, and entertainment experiences.

Third Hotel at Resort

Shanghai Disney Resort announced its third themed hotel expansion. The new hotel design concept will be an homage to Shanghai’s unique early 20th century architectural legacy, staying true to Shanghai Disney Resort’s overall planning principle of being “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”

Soaring Over the Horizon Expansion

Shanghai Disney Resort recently announced the expansion of Shanghai Disneyland’s iconic attraction, Soaring Over the Horizon, to significantly increase the daily capacity for one of the theme park’s most popular attractions.

Tokyo Disney Resort
