Walt Disney World Resort
These are the new developments coming to Walt Disney World, joining four of the most popular theme parks from around the globe, two thrilling water parks, nearly 30,000 hotel rooms, a sports complex, four golf courses, and Disney Springs — a metropolis of shopping, dining, and entertainment. At Magic Kingdom specifically, the new additions celebrate the vast appeal of both Disney Villains and Disney & Pixar’s Cars, and represent the largest expansion in the park’s history. Villains Land
Walt Disney Imagineering is developing a new land in the Magic Kingdom that brings to life brand new stories featuring Disney’s most iconic villains. The area will feature two major attractions, immersive dining, and themed retail, offering guests bold new ways to experience the magic of storytelling.
Piston Peak National Park
Inside Piston Peak National Park, coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, guests will be able to see and explore the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails, and more — all set within the Disney and Pixa Cars universe. The area will feature two exciting new Cars-themed attractions: Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along.
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
In addition to adding Walt Disney to the very attraction that bears his name, Imagineers are also updating all the scenes to new time periods, where guests will get to see what John (voiced by Bryan Cranston), Sarah (voiced by Jamie Lee Curtis), and the rest of the family are up to as they navigate ever-changing technology in new decades. The attraction will debut in late spring 2027.
Monstropolis
In this brand-new land themed around Pixar Animation Studios’ classic film, Monsters, Inc., guests will have the chance to stroll the streets alongside some of their favorite monsters. This living, breathing, and not-at-all-scary area tells a story that picks up after the events of the film where monsters need laughter to power the city. Parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027.

The land will feature a Monsters, Inc.-themed suspended coaster, a Monsters, Inc.-themed theatrical experience, and themed shopping and dining.

Learn moreThe land will include a signature attraction where guests embark on a thrilling roller coaster ride through the Monsters, Inc. door vault. The upcoming door ride will feature the first-ever suspended coaster at a Disney Park, and the first-ever vertical lift.

Tropical Americas
Set to open in 2027, Tropical Americas is a new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will enter the land through Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional village in the heart of the rainforest that will feel lived-in, with a long, rich history — including attractions themed to Indiana Jones and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto.

Tropical Americas will feature a new attraction based on one of Disney’s most popular franchises, Encanto. The experience — which is the first ride-through attraction of the film for a Disney park — takes place inside Casita on the day after young Antonio receives his gift of communicating with animals.

Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent
The attraction includes revolutionary Audio-Animatronics figures — including Harrison Ford as the actual model for the Indiana Jones animatronic — an original storyline, and one grand escapade that transports guests into the world of the ancient Maya alongside the famed archaeologist, in a way that only Animal Kingdom could.

El Carrusel de los Animalitos
A woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring 22 of his favorite animals from Disney stories in the heart of Pueblo Esperanza in Tropical Americas. It’s a new take on a classic attraction that young families are going to love.

Spaceship Earth Reimagining
A re-imagineered Spaceship Earth will be coming to EPCOT, bringing the attraction into the internet age and beyond. The ride currently tells the story of human communication, but the team is reimagining that focus on a broader theme that is still classically EPCOT – human connection.
Disney's BoardWalk Experiences
Disney’s BoardWalk has long been known for its timeless charm, lively atmosphere, and unique mix of dining, shopping, and nightlife. Starting in late 2026, new experiences are coming as part of the continued evolution of Disney’s BoardWalk, including a new lounge, Hurly-Burly, a new quick-service restaurant, and a sensory shopping experience at Basin on the BoardWalk.
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge
Set to open in summer 2027 along the shores of Bay Lake, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers. Inspired by Walt’s lifelong admiration of the great outdoors, the resort will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature with nods to classic films like Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear.

Avengers Campus
Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park will double in size with two brand-new attractions — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, opening in 2028. These thrilling experiences will prepare guests to suit up and fight alongside some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Construction has begun on this exciting expansion.

Avengers Infinity Defense
When the new attraction officially debuts at California Adventure, guests will be welcomed to the attraction as new recruits, where their journey begins with a pre-mission briefing from Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani. More on-screen heroes will reprise their roles, including Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
Avengers Campus
Stark Flight Lab
Featuring Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Stark Flight Lab takes guests inside Tony’s workshop filled with cutting edge tech. That includes a massive robot arm that reaches down, grabs a guest’s pod, and lifts them off the track, where they will make several high-speed maneuvers.

Parking Structure & Transport Hub
Work is underway on a new parking structure and transportation hub being built on the east side of Disneyland Resort. This new area will provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, dedicated shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening, and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area.
First-Ever Coco Attraction
An all-new attraction themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco is coming to Disney California Adventure park. The attraction will be filled with beloved characters and music from the film, as guests join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead. The upcoming attraction will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in areas that are predominately backstage today.
Tomorrowland Reimagining
The transformation of Tomorrowland will honor the legacy of the original land while reimagining its future. Disneyland Resort will strive to preserve what guests cherish most, while also introducing new experiences and possibilities for the next generation of fans.
Avatar Experience
A new destination drawing inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash is making its way to Disney California Adventure park. This new and thrilling experience will bring the excitement and wonder of Avatar to guests, bringing Pandora to life in a brand-new way.
Disney Cruise Line
Currently in a period of unprecedented expansion that will double the size of its fleet, Disney Cruise Line offers unique itineraries and immersive experiences for all ages and brings the magic of Disney to new audiences and new places around the world.
Disney Believe
Expected in late 2027, the Disney Believe will be the fourth ship in the groundbreaking Wish class, with its own unique motif: one of promise and possibilities. From the mystical worlds of Encanto and Frozen, to the wishing wells of Snow White, to the depths of the sea with Moana and The Little Mermaid, there will be endless stories onboard.
Expansion of Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line will add four new vessels to its growing fleet between 2027 and 2031 — doubling the number of its ships during this period. Once these ships are built, guests will have 13 different ways to experience Disney’s world-class entertainment, renowned dining, and impeccable guest service in more parts of the world.

Disney Signature Experiences offers family travel and leisure experiences beyond theme parks, with upcoming new-home communities and expanding vacation options for families to enjoy.
Cotino
Cotino — the first-ever Storyliving by Disney community — is currently underway. Storyliving by Disney are vibrant new-home communities where the magic of Walt Disney Imagineering and a talented team of industry experts will bring the Disney legacy of placemaking and attention to detail to life like never before.
Asteria
Nestled in the heart of North Carolina is Asteria, the newest Storyliving by Disney Community. Designed as a campus of discovery, the Asteria community will be built around curiosity, connection, and exploration. It will be a place where neighbors can enjoy everyday moments together with an added touch of Disney magic.
Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris is currently in the midst of an overall unprecedented transformation. The resort’s second park is undergoing a major expansion that roughly doubles its footprint and embraces a fresh creative vision: with the opening of World of Frozen in March 2026, the park has been reimagined as Disney Adventure World. Still to come to the park is an Up-themed attraction followed by a major The Lion King-themed area and attraction.
Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings
Blending the charm of family attractions with the colorful world of Pixar Animation Studios’ Up, the new experience — a flying carousel that will spin in the air, offering a bird’s-eye view of the park’s stunning scenery — will come to Adventure Way in 2027 and mark the first time an attraction inspired by this beloved film is coming to a Disney park.
Lion King Attraction
The first-ever immersive world themed to The Lion King is coming to Disney Adventure World. Guests will plunge beneath Pride Rock’s caves to relive iconic scenes from the original Walt Disney Animation Studios film via a thrilling water ride with cutting-edge effects, Audio-Animatronics technology, and a 16-meter drop — one of the park’s largest attractions ever.
Space Mountain De la Terre a la Lune
Blast to the past. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain will close at the end of 2027, making way for Space Mountain – De la Terre a la Lune at Disneyland Paris.
Disney Sequoia Lodge Transformation
Since January 2026, the iconic Disney Sequoia Lodge and its 1,010 rooms have been undergoing an ambitious transformation. The hotel remains open during the phased refurbishment and includes reimagining every space with brighter, modern design inspired by the beauty of nature, Walt Disney’s own affinity for nature, and Disney animals living in the forest, seen in animated classics like Bambi.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
Following the successful launch of World of Frozen in 2023 and the milestone celebration of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary, the Resort has a strong pipeline for future growth through its expansion plans, including new Pixar-themed and Super Hero-themed experiences, as well as more new guest and seasonal offerings. Here’s a look at some new excitement to come.
Avengers Research Testing Labs
The new Pavilion at Stark Expo will redefine Tomorrowland’s skyline, and be home to the Avengers Research Testing Labs, where Stark Industries and other brilliant minds like Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man) develop cutting-edge technologies. This powerful new technology will take guests on an action-packed journey with Spider-Man and more Super Heroes across Wakanda, Asgard, and beyond.
Pixar-themed Theatrical Spectacular
Coming in 2027, a massive theater space will be unveiled at Toy Story Land for an all-new Pixar-themed theatrical spectacular, inviting guests to explore the newly expanded neighborhood, with their favorite friends from Toy Story, including Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, Rex, and Poppy, an original Pixar character created exclusively for the show.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Opened on June 16, 2016, Shanghai Disney Resort is home to Shanghai Disneyland, two themed hotels (with two more on the way), Disneytown, a shopping, dining and entertainment district, Wishing Star Park, and other outdoor recreation areas. These are a couple of the other exciting updates coming to the resort.
Spider-Man-Themed Land
As the ninth themed land at Shanghai Disneyland and third major expansion for the park, the new Spider-Man-themed land will be the first land anywhere in the world dedicated exclusively to Spider-Man, home to the new Shanghai division of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B. for short, of course).
Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel
Shanghai Disney Resort announced its third themed hotel expansion, the Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, set to open this winter. The new hotel design concept will be an homage to Shanghai’s unique early 20th century architectural legacy, staying true to Shanghai Disney Resort’s overall planning principle of being “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”
Fourth Hotel at Resort
Shanghai Disney Resort is embarking on another ambitious expansion project, unveiling plans for a fourth themed hotel and a vibrant extension of Disneytown’s shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences. The new hotel, located just steps from the entrance to Shanghai Disneyland, will serve as a gateway to unforgettable adventures and lifelong memories.
Soaring Over the Horizon Expansion
Shanghai Disney Resort recently announced the expansion of Shanghai Disneyland’s iconic attraction, Soaring Over the Horizon, to significantly increase the daily capacity for one of the theme park’s most popular attractions.
Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disney Resort, opened in April 1983 as the first Disney theme park outside of the U.S., is a truly magical place for its guests. Just 12 kilometers from central Tokyo, the resort contains two theme parks and five Disney-branded hotels.
Space Mountain Earthrise
Space Mountain and its surrounding area are undergoing a major transformation, scheduled to debut in 2027. The new area will include a newly rebuilt Space Mountain attraction, keeping the original concept as a thrilling indoor coaster that takes guests on a high-speed journey through space, but with enhanced performance and immersive special effects.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue
Opening in spring 2027, a new attraction themed to the Walt Disney Animations Studios’ film Wreck-It Ralph will offer fun for the whole family as they immerse themselves in the world of the candy-themed racing game, Sugar Rush, while embarking on an exciting adventure.

Disney and Formula 1® have extended their collaboration through 2028 and are expanding the global program beyond Mickey & Friends with the addition of Disney and Pixar’s Cars. Launched in 2025, the collaboration blends Disney storytelling and racing fandom through immersive experiences, engaging content, and bespoke merchandise for fans worldwide.
100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Balloon will make its debut at the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this November, continuing a Disney tradition that dates back to 1934, when Mickey Mouse first took flight in balloon form. Fans can also look forward to a commemorative Disney & Macy’s product collection celebrating the milestone.

Disney Consumer Products is continuing to expand its presence across sports culture with the debut of the Disney | Champion NFL Collection, a first-of-its-kind collaboration that pairs all 32 NFL teams with iconic Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar characters through storytelling-led designs inspired by team identity and fan culture.
WEBTOON
Disney and WEBTOON are working together to develop an all-new digital comics platform that will feature current comic book runs and include decades of past comics from across Disney’s portfolio. For the first time, more than 35,000 comics from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios will be available in a single digital comics service with one convenient subscription.
