Tommy Jones
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Safety, Health, Engineering, & Sourcing
Tommy “TJ” Jones is the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Safety, Health, Engineering and Sourcing (WSHES). In this role, he holds global responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of both Disney cast and guests, as well as overseeing ride safety and reliability. Jones also focuses on consistently sourcing high-quality products and services and optimizing supplier diversity for Disney Experiences. He leads a talented team and provides strategic direction, focused on identifying and managing risks to the organization, with the goal of continuous business and operational performance improvement.
Prior to this role, Jones was Executive Global Management – Design & Delivery for Walt Disney Imagineering, where he oversaw the execution and delivery functions for Disney’s theme park, resort hotel, and cruise ship projects worldwide. Before that, Jones served as the Vice President of Facilities & Operations Services for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. During his tenure, he successfully led the reopening of the resort following the pandemic. Jones’ experience also includes serving as the technical director for Show Ride Engineering during the development of Hong Kong Disneyland, and after the park’s grand opening in 2005, he transitioned into the role of director of Facilities Operations Services.
Beyond Disney, Jones has gained extensive experience in various industries and disciplines, such as materials science, biomedical engineering, defense and military systems, software/simulation development, themed hospitality construction, and facilities management for companies like Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon and universities such as Johns Hopkins and MIT.
Jones holds a degree in physics from Southern University and a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves on the advisory board for the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Jones now resides in Orlando, Florida, with his wife and son.
