Disney Ambassadors Celebrate the Season of Giving at The Learning Center with Golden Moment

In a heartwarming moment of storytelling magic celebrating the Season of Giving, Walt Disney World’s Ambassadors stepped into the colorful world of The Learning Center, two onsite childcare hubs for Disney Cast Members filled with sunshine, smiles and sweet surprises!

Here at Disney, we take pride in creating spaces where our Cast Members and their families can strengthen their minds and hearts. While Cast Members are busy making magic, The Learning Center ensures their children are nurtured, engaged, and set up for their future. With thoughtfully designed programming, flexible options, and a touch of pixie dust, it offers the ultimate peace of mind for working families on property at Disney.

As part of an extra special surprise story time to kick off the season, the Walt Disney World Ambassadors read the Orange Bird Golden Book to students, including the children of Cast Members who regularly attend The Learning Center, operated by the Central Florida YMCA on Disney property.

To continue our mission of inspiring the next generation of storytellers, Walt Disney World gifted hundreds of copies of this story about a little orange bird with a big heart to The Learning Center.

The Walt Disney World Ambassadors share a special story with a VPK class at The Learning Center.

For more than 20 years, Disney has offered onsite childcare exclusively to its Cast Members, along with financial scholarships to help eligible employees with childcare costs.

The Learning Center is a facility that hosts seasonal camps and childcare 365 days a year, providing convenient care options for Disney Cast Members with children onsite.

“Providing high-quality, affordable early education programs to help children grow both academically and developmentally is The Learning Center’s mission,” said David Miller, Work Life Initiatives Program Manager for Walt Disney World and proud parent of a child who attended the Learning Center from age infant to VPK. “The childcare being an offering that’s supported by Disney is a unique opportunity for us to have the Disney differences included where characters are here sometimes for holiday parties and special events like the VPK graduation. It was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen — pre-kindergarten kids singing and dancing and wearing their Mickey ears as they graduate!”

Childcare options like this are just one of the many perks Disney provides to support the well-being of Cast Members to inspire and empower them to be and do their best.
