Larger-than-life Rapunzel and Tiana Classic Doll box installations arrived at Disney Springs — and yes, guests can actually step inside them. But the best part? This is a photo op with purpose.
The life-size displays are inspired by Disney’s new Classic Doll box packaging, which is 100% plastic-free. In fact, the new packaging design will help avoid the use of over 110,000 pounds of plastic per year. That’s equal to the weight of about 11 elephants (compared to the 2020 packaging design)!
From April 6-26, guests are invited to channel their inner princess and step inside this life-size doll box experience, just in time for Earth Month.
Step Inside the Magic
This immersive photo moment gives Disney Springs guests the chance to become the star of the story. They can pose solo, snap a photo with friends and family, or even capture a magical moment with the help of Disney PhotoPass.
And the magic doesn’t stop there. The dolls featured in the installation are available just next door at Once Upon a Toy. The new plastic-free packaging is available for Disney’s Classic Dolls at select Disney stores and Disney Parks locations in North America and on DisneyStore.eu and DisneyStore.com.au.

Designed with Play — and the Planet — in Mind
Not only do the updated boxes help us avoid the use of plastic; they are also made from certified, sustainably sourced paper.
“At Disney, we always start with the story — creating authentic character experiences that resonate with guests and fans. Our packaging is where that story begins. With our Classic Doll packaging, we saw an opportunity to rethink the guest experience through the lens of both sustainability and design. The new Classic Doll packaging reflects a more holistic approach — eliminating plastic, reducing material use, and bringing back direct visibility to the doll,” said Stefanie Majoras, Vice President of Global Merchandise Sourcing and Supply Chain Optimization at Disney.
This is just one step in our journey, all part of our ongoing efforts to take meaningful and measurable action to support a healthier planet for people and wildlife, a commitment we call Disney Planet Possible. More dolls and products will continue to roll out with reduced-plastic and plastic-free packaging in the future.
Plastic-free packaging is now available for Classic Dolls across 15 Disney characters, including:
Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Merida, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, Tiana, and Tinker Bell — with even more characters coming later this year.
“This is just one project in a focused ongoing effort to develop packaging solutions with efficiency and sustainability at the forefront of design efforts,” said Steven Saco, Technical Packaging & Supply Chain Engineering at Disney.

This Earth Month, this larger-than-life photo moment is one example of how Disney is working to reduce waste and create more sustainable products and experiences. We’re also celebrating the Disney Conservation Fund’s 30th anniversary by spotlighting 30 of Disney’s biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability stories.
