Meet Luis
Luis was hired into an hourly, entry-level role at a Disneyland Resort hotel as a steward in Food & Beverage, where he developed world-class service skills in a fast-paced environment. In this role, Luis helped ensure guests had the best dining experiences possible during their visits to Disneyland Resort.
Luis Grows His Skills
Luis was later trained in food prep and advanced to Pantry (culinary support). In this role, Luis grew his culinary and service skills, gaining valuable experience in the kitchen.
Luis Advances His Career
Luis was promoted to order/grill cook, further developing his culinary skills by working with all types of food and serving the high-quality meals that guests expect.
Luis Earns a Promotion
Luis is later advanced to dinner cook, where he takes pride in preparing dishes across the menu. In this role, Luis also develops additional skill sets, such as leading and motivating other cast members in the kitchen.
Disney Aspire
Approximately 10% of Disneyland Resort cast members are currently enrolled in Disney Aspire, the company’s education
investment and career development program, offering tuition paid up front for full- and part-time hourly employees with 180 days
of service including local institutions such as California State University, Fullerton, and Fullerton College. Disney Aspire offers
programs ranging from high school completion to undergraduate degrees.

Thrive@Disney is an annual mentorship program that engages cast members through professional development in the form of 1:1 mentoring relationships and networking events.
