Fostering a Culture of Safety


Disneyland Resort is a unique 24/7 operation, and as such, we prioritize safety through dedicated measures. We foster a culture of safety by providing resources and education, and most importantly, empowering cast members to voice matters of safety.

Safety in Education

Safety education is crucial in giving cast members the knowledge and skills to help protect themselves and perform their roles safely. Disneyland Resort provides comprehensive employee health and safety training and information including:

Safety and Wellness Fairs

Disneyland Resort hosts safety and wellness fairs throughout the year where cast members can attend educational and interactive events.

First Aid

Disneyland Resort provides self-treatment guidance for cast members outlining common injuries and conditions that can be treated by first aid supplies provided in work locations.

AED and CPR Training

Employee automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training provide fundamental instruction for cast members who may encounter a emergency medical event.

Heat Response

Disneyland provides guidelines and temperature-based procedures to all cast members.

Disneyland "Culture of Safety" Program

This employee safety training program was created for Disneyland Resort leaders to understand the value of learning, living and leading a culture of safety.

Safety in Empowerment

Every cast member is empowered to voice their ideas, concerns and opinions. Disneyland Resort provides multiple ways in which employees can advocate for safety at Disneyland Resort, including:

Safety and Wellness Committees

Provides cast members a voice to openly express safety and employee wellness-related issues.

Recognition Opportunities

Disneyland cast members can recognize peers for upholding the safety key by sending an official message to the cast member and their leader or by hosting a safety celebration.

Disneyland Resort Safeline

A dedicated phone number is available for cast members to report Disneyland safety concerns any time of day anonymously or by speaking directly to the Safety Services Duty Manager.

Cast Care Center

A dedicated space to equip cast members with resources and support for overall well-being. These resources include employee wellness navigators who provide in-depth overviews and assistance.

Be Well Program

Resources to help enhance cast members mental, physical and overall well-being.

Ergonomics

Disneyland Resort conducts training and gives guidance on how to have proper body mechanics, physical techniques and design standard guidelines.

Employee Safety Website

A dedicated safety website includes resources that provide leaders and cast with an extensive safety resource library, safety handbook, leadership resources, and workplace safety program.

Safety in our Parks and Communities

The Disney Wild About Safety global educational program aims to engage families in safety and health through storytelling that promotes safe behavior and demonstrates Disney’s commitment to delivering fun and safe experiences. Cast members engage millions of guests each year through a series of illustrations in tip cards, activity books and videos as well as other materials utilized throughout our domestic and international theme parks and communities.
