The guidance of a mentor can shape a young person’s future in profound ways. Through Anaheim’s Innovative Mentoring Experience (AIME) program, Disneyland Resort cast members are helping local students discover new possibilities, build confidence, and explore career paths they may never have considered.
This year, Disneyland Resort cast member Amy Cassidy participated as a mentor, partnering with Anaheim Union High School District student Kenzie. Through park tours, conversations with leaders, and behind-the-scenes experiences, Kenzie gained a closer look at the teamwork, innovation, and creativity that help bring Disneyland Resort to life each day.
Together, they explored the many roles that support Disneyland Resort operations, discussing everything from strategic decision-making and collaboration to the everyday efforts that create memorable guest experiences.
As part of the AIME program, the Disneyland Resort team also connected students with leaders from across the business who shared their personal career journeys. These conversations introduced students to a broad range of opportunities, from Imagineering and Park Operations to Finance and Public Affairs, helping them see firsthand the many paths available to them.
For Amy, the experience was equally rewarding.
“Kenzie’s curiosity was inspiring,” Amy shared. Watching her embrace new experiences with confidence and enthusiasm reminded me of the importance of staying curious and being open to opportunities.”

Throughout her own career, Amy has benefited from mentors who challenged her, encouraged her growth, and helped her navigate new opportunities. Participating in AIME gave her the chance to pay that support forward by helping a student just beginning her own journey.
Programs like AIME reflect Disneyland Resort’s ongoing commitment to supporting local students and strengthening the Anaheim community. By connecting young people with experienced professionals, the program helps students build confidence, broaden their understanding of potential career paths, and develop skills that will serve them well in the future.
The experience reinforced a lesson that continues to guide Amy’s career: growth often happens when you step outside your comfort zone, stay curious, and remain open to learning from others.
“There’s always an opportunity to learn and grow,” she said. “I’m grateful for the chance to support Kenzie’s journey and for everything I learned from her along the way.”
To develop and support the workforce of tomorrow, Disneyland Resort helps prepare nearly 400 local students for their future careers through mentorship and career skills programs with the Anaheim Union School District and other local organizations.
